In the summer of 2021 I wanted to paint some colorful work and just began to paint flowers.  It was as simple as that.  So many beautiful gardens in my area were an inspiration and my own sad garden was newly composted and so began to thrive.  I planted begonias, ligularia, daisies and marigolds.  Below are some images of those paintings.




This turned out to be such fun and gave me an opportunity to use more color and design in my work.

During the first covid lockdown I created lots of drawings of women in some sort of distress. This will sound odd but I wasn't aware I was doing this. It was not an intention.  I just knew I wanted to complete a drawing every day and felt it would be a good discipline for my time to have this project.  When I had completed about 30 I looked them over as a group and thought, what do these have in common.  It was a surprise in some way to see that they were so about how I was thinking at that time, the limitations had played a role in my imagery.
